This self-paced online course provides a comprehensive introduction to the Baseworks Method in 10 segments, connecting theoretical concepts with physical practice. The structured learning platform enables you to explore the ideas at your own pace while practically integrating what you learn to get the most out of what the practice offers.

Segment 1: Orientation

Objectives, study guides and recommendations to get the best out of the course.

Segment 2: Forms

Examining the individual forms as the foundational units of the practical application of the Baseworks Method. Understanding the Baseworks movement patterns in several key forms helps establish clear reference points for developing body awareness and refining movement skills. This foundational pillar shapes how you observe and analyze movement in subsequent segments.

Segment 3: Focus

Building on your understanding of Forms, this segment explores the learning goal-setting approach in Baseworks. You'll learn to establish clear objectives to enhance your awareness of movement quality while maintaining consistent engagement throughout your practice.

Segment 4: Intensity Modification

This segment addresses how to adjust your approach to any movement based on current physical and mental states. You'll develop the ability to recognize and respond to signals from your body and varying energy levels, ensuring your practice remains productive regardless of circumstances.

Segment 5: Movement Transitions

This segment examines the fluidity of movement within each form and how forms connect to each other emphasizing movement as a continuous process. The quality of movement transitions enhances your awareness of the finer details of movement.

Segment 6: Ignition

Mindset is important. Discover systematic approaches to beginning practice sessions. This segment teaches methods for calibrating your physical and mental state, creating conditions that support productive engagement with the practice

Segment 7: Assimilation

Similar to how sleep is crucial for memory and skill consolidation, certain practices can enhance the outcomes of a practice session. Explore techniques for processing and integrating practice outcomes. You'll learn to recognize and retain insights gained during practice.

Segment 8: Cycling

Understanding how alternating between different aspects of practice develops a broader perspective. This approach helps you recognize patterns and connections across various movement experiences, connecting them to the broader context of your life.

Segment 9: Practice Duration/Regularity

Learn to establish sustainable practice patterns that fit your daily schedule. This segment addresses practical considerations for maintaining consistent engagement with the method while respecting your other commitments

Segment 10: Journaling

This segment will focus on documenting and analyzing your experiences and practice outcomes. The content introduces techniques for tracking progress and identifying patterns in your development, helping you notice perceptual shifts and maintain a clear view of your growth over time.

Your course enrollment also includes 3 months of access to the Baseworks Practice Platform’s – BASIC tier, supporting practice online from anywhere.

Faq

Most exercise and movement practices focus on physical results – strength, flexibility, or specific techniques. While these practices can lead to deeper insights, Baseworks is designed specifically for insight. Our method develops awareness and understanding of movement first, which naturally improves both physical and mental capabilities.

You need to be able to stand without support and get up from the floor independently. We work with everyday movements that adapt to your current mobility, flexibility, and strength level. You’ll never be required to do something beyond your capacity. Contact us if you have mobility concerns or chronic conditions.

These are practice sessions designed to learn the Baseworks Approach through movement. Sessions include guided exercises and occasional partner work, with hands-on feedback to support your progress. Some sessions allow questions throughout, while others include Q&A at the end.

  • Foundation/Elements classes: Similar movements but more personalized format
  • Lectures: Different focus – Study Groups are experience-oriented without lectures
  • Regular events: Different format unless it was a multi-day intensive
  • Open Days: More in-depth than these introductory events

The online course is optional but enhances your learning experience. It offers practical advice in short segments (2-20 minutes) that you can review at your own pace. This flexible format complements the in-person sessions and helps reinforce movement skills through regular practice.

In general, Baseworks is suitable for ages above 6 years old. However, Study Group sessions are designed for adults. If you are under 18 years old and wish to attend, or if you would like for you child below 18 years old to attend, please contact us directly.

You are not required to attend every session, so it’s fine if you miss some. However, if you miss any of the four sessions, you will forfeit the cost of the missed sessions. If you’re unsure about your availability, we recommend purchasing single study group passes instead. Please review our participation policy terms before booking any events.
