Finding Bilateral Balance and Symmetry in Asymmetry

Most animals are constructed in a way that their bodies are bilaterally symmetrical. As human beings, there is a natural tendency to find aesthetic beauty in what is more symmetrical versus asymmetrical. In Baseworks movement practices, we make a conscious effort to work on both sides of the body equally in a balanced way, at the same time find symmetry in asymmetrical movements and positions.

In this VS, we will work on raising awareness when attempting bilateral movements, as well as exercises to find symmetry in asymmetrical forms/movements.

This VS will be approximately 20% theory and 80% practice and will be conducted in Japanese.

What are virtual Sessions?

Virtual Sessions are a “live” educational format offered on the Baseworks Practice Platform.

Whereas the Online Practice Sessions are designed to provide the opportunity to develop your practice through repetition, the Virtual Sessions are designed to provide real-time feedback and insight, which can then be re-applied during the Online Practice Sessions.

The level of interactivity in the Virtual Sessions is dependent on the interest/involvement of the participants and may vary from session to session.

Each virtual session lasts from 60 to 90 minutes.
