Baseworks Practice is effective for working on Type I fiber-mediated strength, flexibility, and mobility. It improves body awareness, understanding and control over movements. It also has a positive impact on mental states and capacities, stress regulation and sleep quality.
Baseworks Practice cannot replace cardio or heavy lifting workouts, however it can improve performance in cardio or heavy lifting workouts. It is also not intended to give you a post-workout “euphoria,” rather leaving you with a state of mental calmness and stable energy after a Baseworks Practice session.
Baseworks can be used as a primary fitness modality or as a complement to other activities.
The Baseworks “Form” videos are short instructional videos that focus on individual Baseworks Forms. They provide detailed instruction to enhance understanding and efficiency during the practice sessions.
Although Forms are building blocks of practice sessions, it is more helpful to think about forms as similar to “Kata” in Karate than to “exercises” in a fitness class.
The Forms can also be thought of as “containers for Baseworks Movement Patterns”.
The Baseworks Forms library serves as a reference for applying movement patterns in various exercises. Therefore, these videos can be used as a source of techniques and inspiration to incorporate into other training modalities.

The Baseworks Meta videos provide a shortcut to understanding the finer details of the Baseworks Method.
It is a unique educational tool that explains attention allocation and goal-setting in Baseworks using concrete movement examples and animation, visualizing things that are difficult to explain with just words.

These videos help with grasping instructional cues, movement objectives, and familiarizing oneself with Baseworks-specific vocabulary. They will help to become aware of things that are normally executed without awareness. The videos are available to all Platform subscribers.

At the start of the Covid pandemic in Japan, during distancing and lockdown measures, we decided to prioritize the planning, filming, and production of the Baseworks Practice Platform. We collaborated with Tokyo-based film director Nicci Keller, known for his work with well-known brands, magazines, and artists like Ayumi Hamasaki and LUNA SEA.
Baseworks is accessible for beginners, regardless of athletic background.
The Baseworks Method was intentionally tested and optimized to make it easier for people with limited physical skills and low body awareness to better understand the instructions, understand their own unique conditions, and progress step-by step without over-exertion and hurting themselves.
In Baseworks, you are always working at your level, and we place a lot of emphasis on developing not only the physical prerequisites (such as strength, flexibility, mobility, and balance), but also the so-called “perceptual skills” – the 3 types of body awareness, and the ability to control the movements in a more conscious manner. Developing these skills makes movement practices and physical learning easier and more enjoyable.
