The human skeletal system, which provides structure for our body, is built in a way that is symmetrical. Nevertheless, our bodies are utilized in an asymmetrical way in our daily lives, from which hand to use to write, to which shoulder to use when carrying a bag, which leg to cross when crossing legs, and so on. All these movement habits gradually lead to tendencies in how we hold our posture, potentially leading to imbalances between the right and left.
Although we will never be able to find perfect symmetry, as even the action of walking entails us to be asymmetrical, bringing attention to the constant interchange between symmetry and asymmetry is extremely beneficial in raising our body awareness.
In this VS, we will break down the concept of gridlines in Baseworks and break down forms/movements by seeing aspects of Symmetry as well as Asymmetry in each form/movement.

What are virtual Sessions?
Virtual Sessions are a “live” educational format offered on the Baseworks Practice Platform.
Whereas the Online Practice Sessions are designed to provide the opportunity to develop your practice through repetition, the Virtual Sessions are designed to provide real-time feedback and insight, which can then be re-applied during the Online Practice Sessions.
The level of interactivity in the Virtual Sessions is dependent on the interest/involvement of the participants and may vary from session to session.
Each virtual session lasts from 60 to 90 minutes.
