You may be familiar with techniques such as Progressive Muscle Relaxation or just the general idea that it is easier to relax a muscle after you have intentionally tensed it.

Baseworks takes this approach to a whole new level by combining Distributed Activation with Micro Movements.

Distributed Activation (DA) is a state when as many muscle groups as possible are intentionally co-contracted at the same time at low intensity.

Micromovements (MM) is a technique of low-amplitude explorative movements within a body part.

In this VS, Asia will explain how to use DA + MM for relaxation and why this technique is effective. Then, most of this VS will be dedicated to practicing Baseworks Form, which use this technique the most to achieve deep relaxation.

Because it is such a simple technique, you can then use DA + MM whenever you feel particularly tense.

This VS will be approximately 30% theory and 70% practice.

What are virtual Sessions?

Virtual Sessions are a “live” educational format offered on the Baseworks Practice Platform.

Whereas the Online Practice Sessions are designed to provide the opportunity to develop your practice through repetition, the Virtual Sessions are designed to provide real-time feedback and insight, which can then be re-applied during the Online Practice Sessions.

The level of interactivity in the Virtual Sessions is dependent on the interest/involvement of the participants and may vary from session to session.

Each virtual session lasts from 60 to 90 minutes.
