Move Smarter in 2026

January 24-March 1, 2026
Circuit-Est: 1881 Rue Saint-André, Montréal (See Map)

This six-week program combines hands-on practice with online conceptual study, introducing you to Baseworks’ distinctive approach to movement and awareness.
You’ll attend 7 in-person sessions (January 24 – March 1) in a small cohort, while completing the Baseworks Primer—a self-paced online course that works hand-in-hand with your in-person learning.
Together, this is 24+ hours of integrated learning you won’t find anywhere else.

Baseworks Primer: Your Conceptual Foundation

12 hours of guided learning across 79 lessons, designed to work hand-in-hand with the in-person sessions

Your learning begins before our first in-person session. The Baseworks Primer is a self-paced online course covering the foundational principles of movement patterns, distributed activation, intensity modification, and movement transitions. These concepts form the vocabulary for our hands-on work together.
The Primer serves as a companion to the in-person sessions, and we’ll share recommended pacing upon booking confirmation to help you integrate both elements of the program. Access begins immediately upon enrollment and continues beyond the program. You’ll also join a dedicated community forum exclusively for your cohort, keeping you connected with fellow participants throughout your learning journey.

Takeaways

She joined Baseworks as a science consultant to investigate the neurobiological basis of the method's effects, and has since developed the conceptual frameworks used to describe and teach it. Her research for Baseworks has been presented at international neuroscience conferences, and a parallel line of her work examines how movement, conceptual thought, and linguistic expression function as integrated cognitive processes. She also participates in an ongoing study of the neuroprotective mechanisms of medium-chain triglycerides; her scientific publications appear under her birth name, Ksenia Shcherbakova.
