3 WEEKS: 15 HoursCapacity: 20 participantsThis intensive is designed around the learning objectives of the STRATEGY module of the Baseworks Practice. It focuses on the biomechanics of the movement of the body in space from the perspective of how the body movements are controlled by the brain. The participants will also learn to use visual spatial cues to understand the forces placed on the student’s body and how to avoid injury, especially with the spinal torsion.

Topics Covered:

  • Spatial awareness: Bending the Anatomical planes of motion; establishing spatial templates
  • Weight distribution in space: modifiers of stability; understanding common unconscious movement patterns
  • Translational motion
  • Forces affecting movement: injury prevention, motor control
  • Twisting and torsion: injury prevention

Baseworks Practice is structured into 4 modules with different physical prerequisites and learning objectives. All modules are taught in the same teaching methodology, ensuring a consistent learning experience.
